Create a GST invoice
You create a GST Tax Invoice in Validure ERP from Sales invoices → New invoice, and the app works out CGST and SGST or IGST on every line from the Place of Supply. This guide walks through one intra-state and one inter-state invoice from the demo company.
Before you create a GST invoice
- You need the Company Owner or Sales executive role; an Accountant can view invoices but not create them.
- Set up the customer in Customers and each item in Items & services, with its HSN or SAC code and GST rate.
- Check that you are working in the right branch, because the branch's state decides the tax split.
Steps to create a GST invoice in Validure ERP
- Open Sales & Billing → Sales invoices and choose New invoice, or use New invoice on the dashboard.Open the New invoice screen in the demo
- Choose the customer. Validure ERP fills the Place of Supply from the customer's state and shows the tax mode beside it: Intra-state · CGST + SGST, or Inter-state · IGST.
- Check the invoice number from your number series (for example INV/2026-27/0212), the invoice date and the due date.
- Add a line for each item: choose the item, then enter the quantity, rate and discount %. The HSN/SAC code and GST rate come from the item. From the keyboard, Tab moves Item → Qty → Rate → Disc %, and Enter starts the next line.
- Check the totals: taxable value, CGST and SGST (or IGST), Round off and Grand total.
- Choose Save invoice. Its menu also offers Save & new, Save & print and Save & share on WhatsApp, and Save draft keeps the invoice unfinished.
To bill an approved quotation, open it and choose Convert to invoice instead: the lines, customer and discounts are copied for you.

Common questions about GST invoices
Why does my invoice show IGST instead of CGST and SGST?
Validure ERP charges IGST when the Place of Supply is in a different state from your branch. Check the customer's state and the Place of Supply on the invoice.
Why is there a Round off line?
Validure ERP rounds the grand total to the nearest rupee and shows the difference, which is always between −₹0.50 and +₹0.49, as Round off.
